“Nurturing the Spirit of the Child” is a daycamp for children K-5 through 4th grade, facilitated by Tiffany Holt and Yvonne Perry. Intuitive and special needs children are invited to participate in this program at Sweet Home Retreat Center near Ashland City, Tennessee.
This “hands-on” outdoor classroom is a 3-day workshop (Monday through Wednesday) designed for understanding the imaginative child and enhancing his or her self-esteem. Here are some of the ways we will support the child’s spiritual nature.
- Arts and crafts to enhance the child’s creative abilities
- Spending time in nature, building play forts and gardening
- Drumming and making music
- Teaching the child how to respond to energy overload in an empowering manner
- Group and one-on-one time with the children to allow their stories to be heard
- Movement, yoga, and dance
- Indoor play with Legos, puzzles, or other and mind-stimulating activities

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Tiffany Holt is a certified K-8 teacher and Master level Reiki teacher. She is a Special Educational Assistant at Kenrose Elementary in Brentwood, Tennessee. Holding space for a special child’s spiritual needs is hard to come by and absolutely necessary for the Crystal child. Co-workers interview Tiffany about how she achieves such good results in children who do not prosper in a typical regimented academic setting. She is a positive influence who offers a different perspective and teaching style for children who do not fit the standardized mold. Children prosper under her guidance because they feel comfortable exploring multi-dimensionally with her.
Yvonne Perry is a former pre-school music teacher, and sound healing therapist, and the owner of Sweet Home Retreat Center. She is the author of many books, including The Sid Series ~ A Collection of Holistic Stories for Children, which was inspired by her grandson (now 16 years old) who saw and heard spirits at an early age. As a grandmother, she loves gardening, singing, being in nature, playing with kids, and creating beauty and harmony in everything she touches.
