Empaths many times feel that they cannot overcome the burdens they carry for others. they tend to be co-dependent and carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. They have a strong desire to please and serve others–often to their own detriment. That was my story at the turn of this century. I was devastated to the point of not wanting to be here anymore. As an intercessor in the church, I picked up on the thoughts, feelings, and energy of those I prayed for, and it was killing me physically and emotionally.
Once I learned how to manage energy and got a grip on how the gift of empathy can be used for good, I wrote Whose Stuff Is This? . This book is the manual I wish I had when I was struggling so hard, and I knew it could help others avoid what I went through.
In the interview below with Karyn Kulenovic I share my story of how I overcame empathy overload and started using my sentient abilities as a discernment tool in my coaching sessions. I trust it will help you see how you can work positively with your sensitivities as well.
